We are committed to keeping our
budget under control. All Council
Departmental Heads will be expected to keep within their allocated budget.
The Conservatives will fight
crime and reduce the fear of
crime by supporting the Police and partner agencies with initiatives, including street patrols, dispersal orders and ASBOs and their enforcement.
For the first time in 21 years, Bury Conservatives took control of the Council on 16th May 2007.

committed to the National Health
Service and the Conservative Group will fight to retain all essential services in Bury’s Fairfield Hospital.
Bury has the best performing
schools within the Greater
Manchester district and are continually highly placed within the country’s published league table. The Conservative Group will always defend our successful school system. Both our Primary and High Schools offer the best education in the country and the Conservatives are committed to protecting and supporting them in all areas
Over many years, our roads have
been a low priority on the
Council’s agenda. This will change. We will endeavour to improve the quality of roads and pavements and their overall cleanliness.
We are committed to
maintaining a weekly
collection of household general waste. We will enable all residents of the Borough to participate in the recycling process to which Conservatives are 100% committed.
The Conservatives will refurbish this facility and secure its future.
