Ward Boundaries

Bury West is on the western side of the Borough, the Bolton side of Bury Bridge and the River Irwell, comprising the electoral wards of Church and Elton. It covers the areas of Elton, Brandlesholme, Woodhill, Woolfold, Lowercroft, Starling and Seddons Farm. It is mainly a built up area developed along the main radial roads into Bury from the west and north including Bolton Road, Ainsworth Road, Brandlesholme Road and the lower sections of Walshaw and Tottington Roads. It is divided roughly into three by the valleys of the Elton Brook & Kirklees & Woodhill, Brookwhich are only traversed by footpaths until the radial roads meet near Bury Bridge and is the only one of the Borough's six Area Board areas not to have a town centre in its own right, although it borders Bury town centre.
